KEEP SAFETY IN MIND
For baby girls' dresses or outfits, make sure you choose a dress without too many adornments such as buttons or sequins. They may look edible to your little one.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT DRESS LENGTH
The longer her dress is, the harder will be for her to wear it, especially if she just began walking.
Avoid incidents like tripping or falling while she's walking around the house. Infant babies tend to be very active and it'll be a shame not to let her fully enjoy the celebration. Instead of picking a long dress, try a short or tea-length Christmas dress. Make sure you provide some warm & qualitative stockings or tights so she won't get cold.
COMFORTABLE DRESSES ARE KEY
You may attend a formal event with her, such as a corporate Christmas dinner at your workplace and is easy to understand that you'll want the best dress.

Preparing your kids for Harmattan

Harmattan is an extremely dry dusty wind that blows towards the western coast of Africa from the Sahara desert, during the months November to March.
For babies, children and adults alike, this season is characterized by dry, flaky and itchy skin, sore throat, cracked feet, numb fingers, runny nose and common cough.
The weather is very deceptive, this minute, it is very hot, the next minute, it is cold; or the sun is shining, yet there is a chill in the air. Parents need a lot of wisdom when it comes to taking care of their children during harmattan.
So the question is; how do we protect and prepare our children for during the harmattan season.

Dress your baby appropriately

Unlike adults and older kids, babies aren't experts in regulating their body temperature. Therefore, in the face of very cold weather, the aim is to keep your baby warm and comfortable. Dress babies and young children in one more layer than an adult would wear. However, you should not be tempted to overdress your baby such that she gets hot, uncomfortable and develops rashes.
The basic clothing when going out should include a cap that covers the ears and can be secured under the chin so it doesn't fall off easily, a warm jacket/cardigan, and warm socks long enough to ensure that no leg skin is exposed to the biting cold. When babies are about to sleep, it's better they are covered in warm sleeping suits, or one piece items than leaving things to chance by covering them with a blanket. Newborn babies should be covered with a cap and gloves/mittens as the temperature drops further when its dusk.

Clothes you should wear for Kids

Wool based materials: these are good clothes for this period and you can wear them for your kids on top or under a shirt or blouse.
Wearing a double or triple layer clothing is also a way your kid can stay immune to the harmattan cold instead of wearing a sweater.
Long Sleeves clothes: These are suitable for this season as they cover the arms preventing direct contact with the dry air. So go get Jackets, blazers, and cardigan, so even if the weather does get hot, you can easily take them off.
Below the knee dresses and skirts: For girls, this is the best time to wear dresses and skirts that are below the knees because the longer the dresses and skirts the better. It will help prevent the legs from turning white.
Let your hair down: This is very fashionable at the same time it gives the neck some warmth which would be a blessing in such a season.
Slim vest: On milder days, a long, thin leather vest worn over a matching turtleneck is a trendy alternative to a jacket.
Socks: Mind you your feet are as important as your face, hair or body during this period. Try to Moisturize your feet after washing. It is required that you moisturize them several times a day.For babies and young children,it is advisable you wear a socks.

Why your Kids Should Wear Pyjamas to Sleep

Why your Kids Should Wear Pyjamas to Sleep

Everyday wellness is about taking care of yourself and feeling good, every day — and every night. It doesn’t just mean eating right and exercising. It also means finding small, simple ways to take care of ourselves and feel good about ourselves.
And here’s one of the simplest ways out there:

 Pyjamas

Clothing is an important part of our everyday lives. It keeps us warm and protects us from the weather.
Many of us are tired by the end of the day — way too tired to care what clothes we or our kids choose to wear to bed. If we’re lucky, we’ve managed to brush our teeth and wash off our makeup before we pass out on the pillow. But thinking about pyjamas? Not so much.
Behavioral modification is powerful stuff. Good habits beget better habits, and confidence breeds confidence. The same holds true in the bedroom. Wearing something soft and comfortable for your kids is healthy as babies and young toddlers are too small for blankets.
When picking pyjamas for a newborn, infant, or toddler, comfort is only half the story. The other main factor is safety—especially when dressing newborns for sleep. Below, find out how to decide what to put on a newborn, infant, and toddler at bedtime.

Choosing The Right Wear for Kids at Bedtime

Newborns: It is important to dress babies in clothing that isn’t too loose (because that lowers the risk of suffocation). One-pieces with built-in feet are a great go-to choice. The most important thing is to avoid any clothing that can ride up over the baby’s face, like tops that are loose around the neck.
That’s where sleep sacks (with no hoods!) and wearable sleep blankets come in handy. (Don’t cover babies with a separate blanket, since that can accidentally cover their faces during sleep). That said, overheating boosts a newborn’s risk for SUID, so make sure to remove outer layers if your baby’s face looks flushed.
Infants: The above advice should be followed until babies hit the age of one, which is when they are no longer at risk for SUID. At this point, pyjamas can be almost anything infants are comfortable in and blankets can be added for warmth. Choosing cotton clothing is a good idea, since it’s soft and breathable—and it helps keep a baby’s body temperature at an ideal level during sleep. One other thing to note for infant sleepwear: Legally, any pajamas that are sized from nine months through size 14 must be either flame-resistant or tight-fitting. This is because loose clothing more easily catches on fire. Pajamas in this age range should have tags saying whether they are flame-retardant and snug-fitting and avoid any that don’t say either.

Toddlers: By the toddler stage, the rules change again. At some point, your child will move into a big-kid bed, and then pajamas can be anything that your little one likes. As for how warm the pyjamas should be, adults should use their bodies as a guide for how many layers are necessary.

Floral Print

Floral prints date back to thousands of years. Long ago, flowers held deep meaning and symbolism, which people enjoyed incorporating into their clothing. Flowers are known as a universal symbol of femininity, which is prevalent in different cultures and time periods. Floral prints are diverse and have always been in production… something we don’t see changing anytime soon. Trends are usually established in adult clothing and are then adapted into children’s wear.

Floral prints typically make us think of warm weather and sunny days. Flowers carry a happy connotation and it feels good to wear them, so why not! Florals are all about having fun with fashion and embracing the excitement of summer. The print is versatile – you can find it on everything from casual kids bathing suits to exquisite wedding dresses. The floral theme also makes great accessories that give you more ways to work the flowers into your style. And if you’re a girly girl at heart, wearing florals is a perfect way to show your feminine side.
Floral Children’s Fashion Trends for Clothing:
Floral prints come in a variety of styles, colors, shapes, and designs. Does your little girl have a favorite flower? Look for a dress with her flower print on it. Kids should love what they are wearing and this is a great way to ensure that. Experts remind us to keep an eye on the size of the print when choosing a dress for your little girl. Smaller girls might avoid larger prints as they could engulf a petite frame.
We can also introduce floral into a boy’s wardrobe as long as we choose the right floral, keep the print in mind , Avoid having competing design elements in your outfit and use  youthful, or traditionally masculine elements to balance it out, then you are good to go.
Floral prints can be used for gowns, ties, bow tie, shirts, skirts, tops, blazers, shorts and many other wears.

Five Floral Print Fashion Trend Tips

Choose lightweight fabrics that breathe well this summer. Cotton, linen, rayon, and chiffon are just a few that work well.
Feel free to mix patterns! Just make sure there’s one color that ties both prints together. Black and navy are great options.
To create a slimming illusion and draw the eye in, explore dresses with flowers gathering down the center.
Be bold! Summer is your excuse to wear bright, vivid colors. If your wardrobe is filled with mostly dark solids, adding a floral print can be just what you need to match your outfit with your summer state of mind.
Floral accessories can add a hint of femininity to your look. Try flower inspired sandals, sunglasses with flowers printed on them, or shade your face with a floral printed sun hat.

Pattern Mixing Looks Better on Kids

Pattern Mixing

Talking about mix matching, when it comes to trying adventurous fashion trends like pattern mixing, kids frequently have adults beat. Their sense of play and lack of inhibition lead them to try combinations that adults would never dare. But we know there are ways to successfully mix patterns and prints that feel bold without getting too crazy.
If your mother ever warned you that patterns don't mix, you may still be a believer in this common decorating myth. Well, consider it busted! A lively mix of different patterns and prints makes for a fun and interesting design, adding an element of playfulness that works perfectly in kid-friendly spaces.

How do I Mix these Patterns

Mixing patterns is actually much easier than you may think.
When mixing patterns, make sure to choose two or three different types. You might pair stripes with polka dots, or polka dots with florals— just make sure that each pattern is distinct.
Multiple patterns of the same type confuse the eye, which takes a moment to register that the patterns are similar but not alike. But varied patterns are instantly distinguishable, creating clear contrast and resulting in fresh and more visually interesting designs.
That's why it's important to consider other details, like color, when making your choices.
It is a good idea to break up your patterns with blocks of solid color.
Patterns are "pack elements.” Together they make a statement, but alone, they tend to get lost in the mix.
Another helpful tip is to choose patterns that vary in scale. Multiple large-scale prints compete for focus, distracting the onlooker, but a mix of small and intricate patterns can look too busy. Again, contrast will produce the best results. Use both small and large-scale patterns

Ankara Patterns

Creativity is the mother of all inventions they say, who would have thought that we will be Mix Matching Ankara Fabric. Few years ago, mix matching styles are made because there are not enough material to make a dress, these days it is a popular fashion trend. Mixing ankara patterns can also be very attractive. We are not looking at mixing ankara patterns with polished cotton, Mixing different ankara pattern together is another way of mix matching clothes for kids though you need take cautions choosing the right patterns to match in order not end up going off color.

Little Boys on Suspenders

Little Boys on Suspenders

Sometimes it’s fun to dress up our little boy with suspenders and all.
Children have a natural need to wear suspenders – their hips have not fully developed and so wearing anything at the waist will simply cause the pants to fall to their feet. This is exactly where suspenders are needed. All children can and should wear suspenders to hold up their pants. They are comfortable and stylish. Furthermore, as the child grows, the suspenders can be adjusted to accommodate the growth, and the child can enjoy learning and playing all day without the nuisance of constantly pulling up their pants. As long as children have been wearing pants, they have been wearing suspenders.
Kids look cool in suspenders. They add grownup flair to little kid fashions. Older kids love the unique looks they can achieve with suspenders plus or minus a dapper bow tie.
Style, Function, Fun Our kids’ suspenders are available in Y-back and X-back styles. Because they are more widely spaced, the X-back-style suspenders offer more support and stability.
Choose suspenders with sturdy metal clips that attach to the waistline of the pants or skirt, or choose kid-sized button suspenders that loop over pants buttons.
And come on…...what’s cuter than matching the suspenders with a quick little bow-tie or a tie…...both are sweet with suspenders. Suspenders with matching pre-tied bow ties will add fun flair to school clothes or dress up formal occasion outfits.
These suspenders can also come in African prints.
Boys like to wear suspenders with plain T-shirts. Colorful or solid-color suspenders will dress up boys’ button-downs and jeans or slacks. Or, dress up a T and cargo shorts.
In summary, if you have children, give them some relief from constantly pulling up their pants and get them  suspender. They will thank you for the comfort!
